Nettleden with Potten End Parish Council
New SID for Hempstead Lane
Our new solar-powered Speed Indicator Device (SID) has just been installed on Hempstead Lane. A mount has also been installed on Water Lane Road and the SID will be moved between the two locations from time to time. The parish council is grateful to David Lloyd (our Hertfordshire County Councillor) and Terry Douris (our Dacorum Borough Councillor) for their support of its efforts to reduce the speed of vehicles passing through our parish.
Potten End village sign
The sign that was blown down some weeks ago has today been replaced by Kevin Furness, our parish warden. The parish council thanks Peter Humphreys for repainting it. Following his wish not to be recompensed for his efforts, the council has made a £50 donation to his chosen charity – The Hospice of St Francis.
Parliamentary Boundary Review
The Boundary Commission for England is currently reviewing parliamentary boundaries with a view to reducing the total number of constituencies in England from 533 to 501 and equalising the electorates as far as possible. It is proposing to move Ashridge Ward (which includes our parish) from Hemel Hempstead to South West Hertfordshire. Details of the review can be found on the Boundary Commission for England Website. If you wish to comment on this proposed change you can do so there – but you only have until Monday 5th December.

Road Closures in Little Gaddesden
Hertfordshire County Council has announced closures of Nettleden Road in Little Gaddesden from 09.30 to 15.00 during a period of around ten days starting on Monday 21st November. This is to carry out kerbing works to prevent encroachment of vehicles onto the grass verges and some carriageway patching to stop water ponding. Full details of the closures and their exact location can be found here.
