The Parish Council administers an area including the settlements of Nettleden, Potten End and Frithsden under Dacorum Borough Council.  It is responsible for the sports ground, recreation ground, allotments, the green, the old green and the burial ground at Pouchen End Lane together with other smaller parcels of land around the parish. It is a statutory consultee for all planning applications in the parish and works with Hertfordshire Highways to improve the state of the roads.

The Council asked residents for their views on a raised platform at the junction of The Common, Water End Road, Church Road and The Green. There were 446 responses representing 40% of residents. 96% were in favour of the proposal.
